Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have an iOptron CEM25P working on Windows 10 that could help me out? I've emailed iOptron directly about this and still waiting to hear back from them. But perhaps there is a drive incompatibility with Win10 and this cable? I don't know what else to do besides downgrade back to Win7, but it seems unreasonable that the mount doesn't work with Win10. One of the reasons I updated to Windows 10 was to be able to use the newest version of NINA, which does not work on Windows 7.Ĭould it be the RS232 to USB cable I'm using? I bought a cheap one from Amazon that mentioned it was compatible with iOptron mounts in the description and, like I said, it worked perfectly fine in Win7. I don't want to downgrade back to Windows 7 just to be able to use my mount. I don't know what else to try and I'm completely at a loss as to why Commander keeps shutting down. I've disabled every setting in Windows 10 regarding USB power options, updated all of my drivers for the RS232 cable, updated Commander to v5.9, updated PHD2 to v2.6.11, updated the ASCOM platform to v6.6 and made sure that I had. I've uploaded a video to my youtube showing the issue when it happens: It will close and reload approx every 30 seconds to 1 minute during this time, or while I'm trying to autoguide.

But in doing so, it disconnects the mount from NINA and PHD2. However, as soon as I start autoguiding and PHD2 starts doing it's calibration, Commander will suddenly close out and load back up. I can slew to targets, platesolve and whatever else I need to do, without issues. When I first run Commander, everything connects fine, and I'm able to connect to the mount using NINA and PHD2. Recently, I updated my laptop to Windows 10 in order to be able to use the newest version of NINA, which doesn't work on Win7, and started having an issue when I start autoguidng in PHD2 where the iOptron Commander software randomly closes out and restarts, which kills the connection to the mount in both NINA and PHD2. I've been able to run the mount for 8-10 hours straight and never once had an issue. This setup has worked flawlessly for me for the entire year I've had this mount. I run autoguiding with PHD2, and I use NINA for target acquisition, platesolve and imaging. I've been using a Windows 7 laptop to control the mount using Commander v5.8 using a RS232 to USB cable. I've had my CEM25P mount for just over a year now.
